What's in Core.
Core is a 3D, xenofree Conditioned Media finishing platform. This page explains what those words mean as manufacturing and format descriptors, not medical claims. Core and Shield is a topical cosmetic product for professional use by licensed clinicians. It is not a drug, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Liquid, shipped cold, mixed fresh
Core and Shield are supplied as a liquid, not freeze-dried. They are made in a quality-controlled US facility, shipped cold, and mixed fresh the day they are used. Each kit is 2ml Core plus 2ml Shield.
What "3D" and "xeno-free" mean
3D is a manufacturing format term. In cell-culture manufacturing generally, "3D" describes growing cells in a three-dimensional format, for example as spheroids or in a bioreactor, rather than in flat two-dimensional lab dishes. It describes how something was grown, not what it does once applied.
Xeno-free means the manufacturing process avoids animal-derived (non-human) materials at the steps where that claim is made. It is a sourcing and process descriptor, not a claim about clinical effect.
Mount Hydra states Core is 3D and xenofree as format descriptors. The specific cell or tissue source and the exact 3D method used for Core have not been published on this site; see the FAQ below for what is and is not confirmed.
Normoxic (Face) vs. hypoxic (Hair)
Both kits pair Core with Shield and use the same 3D, xenofree Conditioned Media platform underneath. Core is conditioned differently depending on where it is used:
- Core One (Face kit): conditioned normoxically (in normal ambient oxygen), for facial skin conditioning.
- Core One H (Hair kit): conditioned hypoxically (in low-oxygen conditions), for hair and scalp conditioning.
Same platform, same price, different conditioning step depending on which kit you order.
Core and Shield, what each vial does
Core is the Hydra Micronutrient Complex, screened for sterility, mycoplasma and endotoxin, 2ml. Shield is a barrier-support serum with low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, 2ml. Both are supplied in consistent, kit-standard vials so the protocol stays the same every reorder.
Quality: screening and Certificate of Analysis
Every lot released is third-party tested and carries a Certificate of Analysis, available to your account on request. Core is screened for sterility, mycoplasma, and endotoxin before release.
